Ever since I downloaded Blender I have been using it to do extra 3D modeling outside of class so that I will have 3D artwork for my portfolio. It was pretty easy to learn because I already knew the basic functions required to make a 3D model, I just had to learn the controls for them in Blender. Because Blender has different key shortcuts than 3DS Max, I often find myself using Blender shortcuts in 3DS Max and 3DS Max shortcuts in Blender, but I quickly realize this mistake and remember the correct shortcut. From an objective standpoint, 3D modeling outside of class has not been helpful because I have no guidelines on what to make and I'm working with Blender so I can't quite do the work we're currently doing with 3DS Max. Overall though I suppose extra practice with 3D modeling couldn't hurt because once I'm out of high school Blender will probably be my only free 3D modeling software. Personally, I've always been more interested with editing images using Photoshop or Paint.net, which is why most of my previous work on my portfolio came from Paint.net. However, because we will only be focusing on 3D modeling this year, I decided it would be more relevant to include 3D artworks on my portfolio instead of edited images.

This quarter has been filled with assignments that all get piled up and are due on the same day for some reason, but that has not stopped me from completing them. With Thanksgiving break over and Christmas on the way, I guess teachers are just looking for the optimal day between the breaks that they can have an assignment due without complaints. Unfortunately, it has been pretty stressful attempting to do four projects in one night but I suppose that is what I get for procrastinating. On the other hand, I've known for weeks when each assignment in this class is due, so even though I'm a little behind it does not stress me as much the other classes that could randomly assign another project any day. As always I never know what to turn in and what not to in other classes, but my grades are still doing fine so far this quarter. Even so, comparing the amount of stress caused to me by this quarter to other quarters it has been overall lower this quarter because I organized my backpack so that I only see the papers I currently need for all of my classes. I also have become more efficient with doing homework, usually doing it on the bus ride home and before dinner now instead of late night or early morning. Sadly though, nothing eventful has happened this year or last year, every day just consists of going to school so that I can go home and do homework then repeat that process the next day. I don't expect anything exciting when I go to school, but it would be nicer if lesson plans weren't so monotonous in my other classes.

From an overall entertainment standpoint Rampage was a decent movie, or at least it was a lot better than most of the other movies based on video games. The movie was similar to the game in that there were giant animals who were driven by rage to destroy the city. The animals in the movie are also the same from the original Rampage game, those monsters are George, who is a giant gorilla, Lizzie, a giant lizard, and Ralph, a giant wolf. The movie also had nearly the same cause of how the monsters were created, which would be a radioactive lake for Lizzie, and experimental vitamins for George and Ralph. However, when compared to Rampage: Total Destruction, which I am more familiar with, it lacks most of the monsters and has a different cause of the rage. I will not count this against the movie though because it is based solely off of the Rampage arcade game, which was also playable in Rampage: Total Destruction. The movie strayed from the game's storyline in two main areas, one being the goal of the monsters and the other being the duration of the movie. In the game the monsters are going from city to city destroying buildings and all opposing military forces with no final objective, whereas in the movie the monsters are attempting to destroy a beacon which is driving them mad and end up destroying buildings and opposing military forces along the way. The movie also only seems to last one day in one city, while the game took place over 128 days in many cities around America, not just one. Overall though, Rampage was a pretty decent movie and for the most part matched the game with only a few mistakes.
